tiastar MCC options

tiastar standard MCCs

Siemens standard non-arc-resistant, low-voltage motor control centersSiemens tiastar standard MCCs are designed as self-contained modular units which meet UL and NEMA standards. They come with rear-mounted, self-aligning copper stabs that firmly grasp onto the bus. Brackets guide the placement of units, further assuring positive engagement with the bus. From 22 mm to 30 mm pilot devices, from direct starters to world-class drives, Siemens tiastar standard MCCs have features and options to meet many specific needs. Other options include SIERS integrated electrical-racking system via retractable stabs and Sm@rtGear power distribution solution.

  • UL 845 labeling as applicable
  • CSA C22.2 No. 254-05 labeling as applicable when specified
  • Heavy-duty construction with up to 100 kA bus bracing
  • Up to 600 V 50/60 Hz
  • NEMA wiring
  • Plug-in units (up to size 5 starters)
  • Door/unit-mounted pilot-device panel
  • High-density compact units available to reduce footprint

tiastar smart MCCs

smart MCCsSiemens smart MCCs are networked, NEMA compliant MCCs that can communicate. They incorporates intelligent devices at the unit level to control and monitor motor operation, energy consumption, and power quality. Smart MCCs rapidly communicate with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or process control systems via a data network.

Smart MCCs are internally interconnected using communication protocols which incorporate intelligent devices such as SIMOCODE pro motor management systems, SIRIUS 3RW44 soft starters, SIMATIC PLCs, Siemens variable-frequency drives (VFDs), and other smart components.  Sm@rtGear power distribution solution is also optionally available.

  • Reduces wiring connections
  • Improves operational diagnostics
  • Simplifies installation and troubleshooting

tiastar arc-resistant MCCs

arc-resistant MCCsSiemens type 2A arc-resistant, low-voltage motor control centers are tested in accordance to IEEE C37.20.7, which contains and channels internal arcing fault incident energy. They provide an additional degree of protection to the personnel performing normal operating duties in close proximity to the equipment while the equipment is operating under normal conditions. Type 2A accessibility means the MCCs protect the operator in front, back, and sides of the equipment.

Siemens tiastar arc-resistant MCCs showcase state-of-art overarching technology. This means one can get an arc-resistant MCC that can have various smart components with communications, and/or high-density compact units. Other options include SIERS integrated electrical-racking system via retractable stabs and Sm@rtGear power distribution solution.

  • Automatic shutters
  • Reinforced doors
  • Insulated bus bar
  • Bolted wireway
  • Internal venting system
  • Deflectors
  • Modified pull-box with pressure flap
