ASCO Series 158 & 159: Best-in-Class Safety Shut-Off & Pressure Regulation in One Unit

The ASCO Series 158 & 159 combines gas safety shut-off and pressure regulation in a single compact unit — the best-performing motorized gas valve on the market.

When it comes to industrial gas burner systems, the ASCO Series 158 & 159 Advanced Motorized Gas Valve sets the standard. It's the only product on the market that combines gas safety shut-off and pressure regulation in a single compact unit — and it leads the industry across every key performance metric. Your IES team is ready to help you put it to work.

Best Performance on the Market

The ASCO Series 158 & 159 Advanced Motorized Gas Valve operates up to 25 PSI (1.7 bar) and closes off at pressures up to 75 PSI (5.2 bar) on smaller single valves, 50 PSI on larger singles, and 30 PSI on double valve configurations. It can even serve as overpressure protection depending on the standard followed.

With the highest Cv/Kv rating on the market, the ASCO Series 158 & 159 Advanced Motorized Gas Valve minimizes pressure drop and can enable pipe downsizing, delivering real cost savings in system design.

The ASCO Series 158 & 159 Advanced Motorized Gas Valve operates from -40°F to +150°F (-40°C to +66°C) with no additional heater required in cold climates. An optional watertight IP65/Type 4 enclosure makes it fully suitable for outdoor installations.

The ASCO Series 158 & 159 Advanced Motorized Gas Valve is the only valve to combine safety shut-off and pressure regulation up to 1.7 bar / 25 PSI and DN80 / 3", potentially eliminating the need for upstream regulators and simplifying your gas train.

Easy to Install and Set – "Set & Forget"

One actuator fits multiple pressure ranges and valve sizes. Just two valve sizes cover seven pipe diameters from ¾" (DN20) to 3" (DN80), and the valve can be installed in virtually any position — including head-down — with no gas tubing to the actuator required.

Setting pressure is just as straightforward. Two rotary dials set pressure as a percentage of the sensor range (1–99%), making it easy to pre-set and duplicate across installations. Protected setpoint changes require physical cover removal, preventing accidental adjustments in the field. Once it's set, it's set.

Who Should Use the ASCO Series 158 & 159?

This valve is the right choice for engineers, maintenance managers, and procurement teams working with industrial gas burners in sectors such as:

  • Food processing and baking
  • Glass and ceramics manufacturing
  • Chemical and petrochemical processing
  • HVAC and boiler systems
  • Power generation
  • Metal heat treating

If your application demands precise gas pressure control, dependable safety shutoff, and the ability to operate in challenging environments, the Series 158 & 159 is a proven solution.
