IES has an opportunity for an experienced Branch Manager ready for a long-term career leading our Gulf Coast team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.


  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & OPPORTUNITIES

  • Provide progressive leadership and set example while leading sales and day-to-day branch operations.
  • Monitor and lead performance to profit goals, and operational metrics for inside and outside team members.
  • Lead, motivate, and direct branch team to serve customers in an exceptional and profitable manner.
  • Assist with hiring, as well as training, coaching, and mentoring employees to ensure they have the skills and product knowledge necessary to excel.
  • Maximize employee productivity and accountability by supervising, evaluating and managing branch employees according to company policies.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for sales and growth.
  • Engage directly with key customers, as well as suppliers, to foster relationships and develop new business.
  • Participate in the development of, and implementation of, business planning strategies.
  • Effectively manage inventory, assets, and expenses.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TALENTS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in wholesale electrical/electronic distribution industry required.
  • Working knowledge of all functional areas of the industry, as well as the customers and markets we serve.
  • Extensive experience in different industrial markets, including industry knowledge, customer base knowledge, competitive landscape, market dynamics, and common applications.
  • Experience specifically in the Gulf Coast market preferred.
  • Substantial familiarity and experience with high tech products and industrial automation solutions (including PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, drives, and controls).
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, negotiating, strategic pricing, and problem-solving skills, as well as industrial sales experience.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Dedication to serving customers, facilitating partnerships, and successfully leading and managing the branch.
  • Understanding of business and management principles, strategic planning, and effective allocation and coordination of people and resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus a minimum of three to five years of relevant industrial distribution leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in wholesale distribution operations, including inventory control, order management, supply chain, and customer service.
  • Background in business development.
  • Proficient with computer technology, as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Drug screen and pre-employment aptitude tests are required.
